Jade said the above, indicating that the Toronto studio aims to grow into a veritable powerhouse for Ubisoft as a company. In a prior interview, she revealed that the Toronto studio was built for the sole purpose of producing top-selling titles, and nothing else - this is where the big guns will be made - or in Splinter Cells case, continued.

Five titles is certainly a huge ambition for any company, regardless of how big they are on the current market. However, one wonders how a studio can simply make five Triple A titles. Carving out a fanbase for a new franchise is a tough job, and it seems all of Ubisoft’s main hitters are staying with their respective companies. The new Ghost Recon is being developed in Paris (and will likely be passed on to developers Red Storm), End War will likely be made by the original creators in Shanghai, and the Montreal studio is taking care of the beloved Assassin’s Creed series.

It’s safe to say the Toronto studio may be making a few new games to break into the market and it’s probably safe to assume (or hope) that they’re not behind Ubisoft’s ultimately confusing Battle Tag game. Jade herself wouldn’t break into the subject, suggesting that they may indeed be making some brand new content:

We can only hope they follow in their Canadian footsteps (looking at you, Montreal) and create a unique game that proves to be a hit with fans. Game Rant will be keeping a close look at the new Splinter Cell when details emerge - you’ll be the first to know if the studio is going to be a major bank, or a major bust.

What do you think, Ranters? Do you have any idea what the Ubisoft Toronto might have in store for us? Any hopes?
