It seems Ubisoft’s Guillemot isn’t done talking up the new Nintendo device. In a Facebook post, the Ubisoft CEO shared his feelings about the Nintendo Switch, and dropped some hints about another major title coming to the new Nintendo console/handheld hybrid. Guillemont said:
We can only speculate about what that surprise title may be, but considering the timing of the Nintendo Switch release in March 2017, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Ghost Recon Wildlands make its way to the device. Whether or not Wildlands will come to Nintendo Switch will depend heavily on the console’s capabilities and the game’s system requirements. Nintendo isn’t planning to release details of the Switch’s specs until January, so gamers likely won’t learn any more about what Ubisoft is planning until at least then. But the statement by Guillemont will definitely keep gamers talking. With that said, it could be the long awaited and rumored Nintendo Switch exclusive Beyond Good & Evil 2, but Guillemont isn’t spilling the beans just yet.
Nintendo has already revealed that the Nintendo Switch won’t be targeting core gamers, but instead will look to capture casual and mobile gamers who want an experience that expands beyond smartphones and tablets. So even though Guillemont didn’t reveal what the surprise game is, it’s enough to keep gamers excited for the title.
Numerous third-party developers have already announced their support for the console, including big names like Ubisoft, Activision, Bethesda, EA, and others. So while gamers may not see Skyrim, Mass Effect: Andromeda or Red Dead Redemption 2 on Nintendo Switch, there should be plenty of exciting, current-gen quality games available on the device from big name developers.
