While the studio tried to make everything as fair of a fight as possible by introducing new players to the game with a tips and tricks video, it’s evident that not every gamer is content by simply having a location-based advantage when it comes to firefights.

Today, Ubisoft posted a response on their official forums in regards to the complaints about an abundance of hackers:

According to many users from online forums like Reddit and NeoGAF, some players are able to exploit so much of The Division’s code because the game stores player statistics on the client side, rather than on their own servers. This means a gamer can use a tool to take this data, change it to what they want, and then push the altered data back to Ubisoft’s servers, which are reportedly taking that information without verifying its accuracy.

Ubisoft promised to address these issues by the time the game releases this March, and we can only hope that a solution is found so that PC players can attempt to extract their goods from the dark zone in as fair of a fight as possible.

With the closed beta being a somewhat controversial one in terms of rejecting applicants and hackers, it looks like Ubisoft may be looking to bring an open beta for the game to all platforms later on this February, which would allow them to ensure everything is properly fixed before the game goes live on March 8th. It sounds like this may not be a bad idea, and we’re sure gamers wouldn’t mind some extra playing time before making the call on whether to buy the game or not.

Have you run into any of these hackers, Ranters?

The Division is scheduled to drop on March 8th, 2016, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
