Ubisoft is focused on making this entry in the series as popular as it can be and is putting heavy attention on marketing. Ubisoft Senior Vice President of Sales Tony Key spoke with Gamasutra about their marketing process for this game:
This marketing push by Ubisoft seems like it could be working, as pre-orders for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood have surpassed those of the two previous games. These high numbers could be from their marketing or they could just be a result of Assassin’s Creed 2 simply being a very promising game. While the sequel wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, it did impress the fans of the series and was a great step forward for the franchise. I am not sure how many people are reserving this game because of the numerous developer videos and commercials that Ubisoft releases, but I bet it is from fans looking for more of the same with the addition of a potentially impressive multiplayer mode.
Key also reported that Ubisoft has done some internal reviews and they expect that Brotherhood will achieve around the same score of 91% on Metacritic that Assassin’s Creed 2 averaged. For fans of the series do this get you excited for Brotherhood? Are you worried about what an annual entry in the series could do to its quality? Also be on the look out for Game Rant’s review of Brotherhood coming in the next few days.
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood will be available November 16th for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
