Last year’s U.S. Open ended in memorable fashion when Brooks Koepka matched the lowest score ever at the tournament — a record set by Rory McIlroy in 2011 — at 16 under par.
Koepka and McIlroy are in the 2018 U.S. Open field, along with past winners Tiger Woods, Justin Rose and Dustin Johnson. Patrick Reed, Rickie Fowler and Sergio Garcia will also compete at Shinnecock.
