Confirmation of the franchise’s hiatus next year comes from Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot at Gamescom. Guillemot has said that rather than push to create a brand new game, the team will instead support Assassin’s Creed Odyssey with additional content updates as a way to retain players following the game’s launch this October. While it doesn’t appear there are any plans to return to releasing games annually, Guillemot says that the reason for the short time between the launch of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is due to both games having been in development simultaneously....

Ubisoft said that after the warnings, players who are responsible for the practice of AFK farming will receive an official email detailing the reason for the ban, and how long it’s going to last. According to the company, using a cheat engine to AFK farm is against its Code of Conduct, and should these players persist, they could ultimately face a permanent ban from For Honor altogether. For the uninitiated, AFK farming is a tactic that involves a user tricking games like For Honor into believing they’re actively engaged in combat so as to get rewards without having to actually be present to play the title....

In a non-publicized move, a recent update to Ubisoft’s DRM-stricken line of games has changed things up, allowing gamers to play their games without needing a constant online connection.
